Researchers at the McKelvey School of Engineering have developed CodeIPPrompt, an automated testing platform that assesses the risk of intellectual property (IP) infringement in AI-generated code. The tool was created in response to concerns that AI assistants like ChatGPT and Copilot could inadvertently generate code that violates copyright laws. CodeIPPrompt provides a risk score indicating the similarity of generated code to copyrighted content, potentially helping users and developers mitigate potential IP violations. Question remains though, is it any better than discontinued AI detector from OpenAI?
