Scientists have discovered evidence suggesting that chunks of Theia, a Mars-sized object that collided with Earth 4.5 billion years ago, ended up inside both the Earth and the Moon. This could explain the presence of large, dense blobs deep within Earth’s mantle. The findings challenge the traditional belief that the impact led to the homogenization of early Earth, instead suggesting it marked the start of Earth’s geological evolution.
