Hopes Dashed As LK-99 Confirmed Not To Be A Room-Temperature Superconductor

The much-hyped material LK-99, initially claimed to be the first room-temperature ambient pressure superconductor, has failed to live up to expectations. Replications of the experiment have found no evidence of superconductivity, with some data suggesting the material’s resistivity increases as temperature decreases. Despite this setback, advancements in superconductivity continue, with new materials expected to revolutionize the field in the coming decade.
