Google has denied reports that it plans to end its reliance on Broadcom for the production of its AI-accelerating tensor processing unit (TPU) chips by 2027. The tech giant refuted claims of a fallout over pricing, maintaining that its relationship with Broadcom remains strong. Broadcom’s role in turning Google’s TPU specifications into a manufacturable form has been largely uncredited, but the company’s contribution to Google’s AI capabilities is significant, accounting for over $1 billion in Q3 revenues alone.
