Microsoft is integrating Python, a popular programming language, into Excel. The feature, currently in public preview, allows users to manipulate and analyze data using Python plots and libraries within Excel. The integration will be part of Excel’s built-in connectors and Power Query, with no additional software installation required. Python calculations will run in the Microsoft Cloud, with results returned to an Excel worksheet. The feature is initially available to Microsoft 365 Insiders in the Beta Channel on Windows, with other platforms to follow.
